Scholar. Writer. Educator.
I am an associate professor of comparative literature and Italian at the University of California, Davis. My research and teaching are motivated by asking how literature and art can reshape our ideas, and I’m particularly interested in how society responds to the sense of crisis in modernity by using literature and art to rethink philosophical ideas about our place in the world. In addition to teaching, I am an active author, translator, and editor. Find out more about my work below.
